Prepare for Socratic Seminar:

1. Prepare a list of 5-10 points that you would like to make on the topic: Why do Revolutions fail?

Think about:

  • Human Nature
  • The Revolutionary Cycle
  • Leadership
  • History of countries involved in failed revolutions (i.e. Have they ever experienced democracy?)
  • Success of American Revolution?

2. Prepare a list of 3-4 questions to bring up in the seminar (i.e. If Snowball was the leader, would the revolution in Animal Farm have been successful?)

3. Bring your Animal Farm novel and a completed history notebook.
