Witness

Description

You will be responsible for portraying a person who either supports or condemns the Industrial Revolution. You will do research and come up with questions and answers your assigned attorney will ask you. You will also be cross examined by the opposing attorney, so you will need to be very familiar with your role and be able to defend your position.

Requirements and Assignements

1. Research: 10 points due October 28/29

a. Take notes OR print out information from websites, highlight and annotate
b. Answer this question - How has your personal experience influenced your support or condemnation of the Industrial revolution?
(This response should be at least 5-6 sentences written or typed on a separate sheet of paper.)

2. Questions and answers: 30 points due Octbober 30/31

a. You will come up with three questions and answers. Type this up at home and do not forget to cite your sources.

3. Performance: 20 points November 4-7

a. You will be evaluated on your ability to do the following

i. Stay in character
ii. Answer confidently
iii. Be compelling or persuasive
iv. Answer cross examinations questions adequately

4. Editorial Cartoon based on trial: November 10 & 12

a. You may choose your topic either based on your character, another person’s testimony or the outcome of the trial
b. Use images or symbols to make your point
c. A political cartoon is NOT an illustration of event, but a comment on the event, it should reflect bias and make a clear point
