"IN HONOR OF ROMEO MONTAGUE AND JULIET CAPULET"

You have been contracted by Capulet and Montague to write the commemorative plaque for the golden statue of Romeo and Juliet, erected here in the name of reconciliation by the two old foes in honor of their dead children.   It is important that this plaque honor the memory of Romeo and Juliet, as well as draw the appropriate conclusions from their tragic tale.

This plaque, located at the base of the statue itself here in Verona, must briefly inform those unfamiliar with the sad but beautiful events that transpired between Romeo and Juliet and their two families.  Your writing must be succinct, appropriate, poignant, and highly polished.  With your words you must do justice to Romeo and Juliet and that for which they lived and gave their lives: unadulterated romantic love, and a pledged loyalty that extends beyond life into death.

Write your dedication in sonnet format, with the names of the two lovers at the bottom. Your plaque should be approximately one page in length in a "plaque" format!  Be ready to share it with your peers in class.
