“Mr. Gieb said,

Go home and write a poem tonight.
Let the words just flow onto the page,
Your verse will be all the rage,
And everyone will see how well it is made.”

As I sleep, the wizard approaches my bed
With him, he brought the magical words
Filling my head with magical thoughts,
Letting my imagination escape, to quick to catch
It ran wild through the dark lonely night
It soared over the clouds onto the moon
‘Round the mountains, down the valleys
Below the sea, into the unknown
Flying with the birds, jumping on the rooftops,
Reaching for the stars,
And then zooming down the windowsill,
Jumping in my room, landing in my head.

Not knowing why,
I awoke with thoughts for a poem
