"The Edge of the World"
I open my eyes, and am astonished to see
The incredible sight that lay below and all around me.
The sparkling ocean and surrounding hillside,
With healthy green trees and a beautiful bayside,
The wind lifts my hair and enraptures my soul
With a wonderful feeling more precious than gold.
A warm smile appears on my face,
As the breeze quickens its soft, gentle pace.
The beautiful sunset, swirls with radiant colors,
Reflecting sparkles and shines off the out-stretched water.
The green hills, surrounding the bay,
Protect me and shield me from the cold of the day.
I open my arms and lookup to the sky
With a giant smile, gleaming with pride.
I smell the salty air, coming from the sea and
Taste salty peanuts from the fish restaurant below me.
And finally I stop for just one moment and listen,
To the cooing of seagulls and rushing waves that glisten.
I know that this is a moment that I will never forget,
For as long as I live and will never regret.
