THE LUCKY GIRL'S HEART ALMOST STOPS

As I sit and thing about the previous days events
I can't help but smile.
The sweetness of innocent young love
Makes me warm and happy inside.
The indescribable joy that you can get
From just one moment with that special someone.

I think of yesterday and the moment he stepped onto the bus.
My heart skipped a beat as I watched him approach my seat.
"Please please please sit next to me," I say to myself.
And to my surprise delight I hear him speak to me.
"Can I sit here?" he asks.
"Yeah." I say trying not to sound too excited.

My legs started shaking,
I couldn't help but start laughing in disbelief.
I couldn't believe my luck
I was sitting next to the most perfect guy in the world.
Just looking at his beautiful face and smile
Causes me to start grinning from ear to ear.

Then to my surprise
He turns  to me and asks, "Do you go to Pierpont?"
"Yeah, I play tennis there." I say shocked.
"I saw you there last week." He replies.
Right then my heart starts to racing and I froze in amazement.
I couldn't believe the guy of my dreams had actually noticed me.

As we stared talking I turned and looked into his gorgeous brown eyes.
I felt my breath catch in my chest.
I had never been so close to him before,
I was mesmerized by the closeness of his presence.
I was so scared and had to run away.
I had never been so nervous around a guy before and that scared me.

As our bus ride was coming to and end
I could feel the disappointment fill my heart.
But the excitement quickly returned once I realized how lucky I was.
The guy I was completely smitten over had sat next to me and actually acknowledged me.
At least I got to spend time with him and he got to know me some.
many girls aren't that lucky.

As I sit in the backseat of the car
Thinking about yesterday's events
I can't help but smile to myself.
As The Calling's "Wherever You Will Go" blares on my headphones
I watch the scenery blur past me like a watered down painting through the window
And hope that the feeling I had on the bus will never leave me.
