Under the moon's eye

Here we are, alone
Only the night, her and I
The air has a serene silence

Her moonlit face beams a hint
of hidden desire from deep within,
And water builds at her eyes

At this moment three small words are uttered
And her tears flow freely.
I feel her passion and reach out to hold her
At an arms distance.

Her lags then fail and she falls upon my chest,
At the same time being enveloped within my arms
"please don't cry" I say,
on the brink of tears myself.

A cool night breeze blows,
And her body begins to shiver.
As this happens I can feel her
Arms tightening around me,
Closer to the source of her warmth,
To the source of her love.

Then, just at this moment,
Just as I feel my tears on her hand,
I bring her lips to mine.
