  Three ring binder

  Eight index dividers

 

B.     Required sections in poetry notebook 

  1. Title Page: Name, "Poetry Notebook," illustration.

  2. My Final Poems: copies of each poem you have written in this unit.  (Favorite/Least Favorite Food, Special Person, Special Moment, Wright Library Lawn, Theme for English 9, Sonnet, and 2 Haiku). *

  3. Rough Drafts: Drafts of poems found in “My Final Poems” section.  *

  4. Poetry Essays: Copies of the assignment sheets for in-class assigned poetry essays, your outline and rough drafts, and final copy graded by Mr. Geib. (Have assignment sheet with notes stapled to written essay)  *

  5. Best Poems Professional: Your favorite poems from published poets, 3 minimum.  *

  6. Illustrated Poems: Illustrate one of your original poems with original artwork, as well as another by a famous poet.  *

  7. Song Lyric:  Copy of 1 song lyric, with one paragraph analysis explaining it.  *

  8. Favorite Poem Project: Discussion questions and poems from each student in class, including yourself.  *

  9. Best Ninth Grade Poem:  Copy of each student's best poem written in this unit.  *

  10. Summary: A formal two paragraph letter to Mr. Geib about what you learned from this project and what you like best about your portfolio (example).

  11. Statement of Integrity: Signed and dated.

  12. Binder Decorations: At least 3 poems, 2 song lyrics.
