IMAGERY
Image
(n.) -- An image in poetry is a word or phrase that refers to a sense
experience. For example, we see a leaf fall, we
hear the band play, we touch the rose petals,
we taste the tea, and we smell the
perfume.
POETRY ASSIGNMENT #1
You
are to write a poem describing how you feel when you eat either your
favorite or least favorite food.
- Poem should
be approximately 1 page in length.
- It should
be more or less broken up into two stanzas.
- Poem should
make EXTENSIVE USE use of imagery.
That is, you should use VIVID, DESCRIPTIVE language to
communicate what it feels, tastes, smells like to eat this food.
