All class policies are based
on the following ideas: respect, courtesy, and accountability.
Here are some specific guidelines
so that you have a concrete idea about what I expect of people
who will someday be running the world.
Respect all in the class.
"Respect" includes
the following behaviors:
One person speaks at a time. Actively
listen to whoever has permission to speak at the time(you
may not put your head down on the desk--this indicates to
me
that
you
are
ill,
in which
case
you should
be at home or in the Health Office.).
Please refrain from making derogatory comments about
others or their ideas.
Please, no gum in class. You will be
assigned Campus Beautification Duty as a consequence for
chewing gum.
We have the privilege
of having this beautiful campus; let us honor ourselves and
all who work here by showing respect to the facility.
Deadlines matter. You need to get used to the idea that late
work is not acceptable. If you are struggling, or you honestly
think that you need more time on a project, please see me
immediately.
No
electronics in class. .You may not use your
cell phones to take pictures, go on the internet, text
message, or anything else; please make sure cellphones
are off before you come to class. No earphones, ipods,
or any other electronic entertainment devices
may be
used in class.Electronic devices being used in class
will be confiscated. Other consequences may also apply.
Actions have consequences. If you
choose actions that are contrary to the rights of others
to learn, and my right to teach, consequences will ensue.
Consequences include, but are not limited to, detention
served with me, parent conference, and the like.
Remember,
you are a human being with intrinsic dignity.
