HEALTH CARE SIG

You and your fellow experts in genetics and biotechnology have been hired to deliver a presentation to the Council on the Quality of Life in Ventura.  Your audience, in particular, is concerned about the new developments in genomes, the ethical implications of these developments, possible cloning and organ harvesting, and equality issues.  I suggest one member of your SIG work on genomes (the basic science, and then the business, legal, and ethical implications), one with genetically modified food, one on cloning and stem cell issues, and organ harvesting, one in terms of equality issues, and finally one on medical ethics.

Just because we have the ability to do something does not mean we should; the Council on the Quality of Life in Ventura wants your input before it makes any recommendations.  The Council will rely heavily on you and your group's presentation to provide us with the information and advice necessary to do advise the community.  The wisdom of our decision will rest in large part on the quality of information we receive from you in your presentation.

Good luck!  We await eagerly the presentation of your SIG.

    Very Truly Yours,

Council on the Quality of Life in Ventura

P.S.  Be sure to read this last reminder as you sit down in your groups to start this project!
